TacDesk vs The Giants: An Honest Feature Comparison
An honest feature comparison between TacDesk and the major security software platforms, TrackForce, TEAM Software, TrackTik, and more: what each one includes, and what each one publishes about price.

When you’re shopping for security management software, the big names dominate the search results. TrackForce, TEAM Software, TrackTik, Silvertrac, THERMS. They’ve got the budgets for ads, the sales teams to chase leads, and the brand recognition that comes from years in the market.
Some of them don’t put a price on their websites. So here is a side-by-side look at what you get, what is published, and what TacDesk charges.
What the Big Players Publish
Pricing is the hardest part of this comparison, because not every vendor publishes it.
- Trackforce (which now includes TrackTik): no price on its pricing page. It asks you to describe your operation and says the quote is "built around your site count and the modules you run".
- THERMS does publish: monthly tiers by number of active user accounts, in US dollars, billed month to month with no subscription contract. See its pricing page.
We haven’t quoted a typical per-guard figure for the others, because we can’t source one. Ask each vendor for a written quote that includes setup, training, contract length and which modules are in the price, then compare it line by line.
What TacDesk Charges
TacDesk is free for up to 5 guards, then fixed published plans from £79.98/month. No setup fees. No annual contract. See current pricing.
For a 40-guard company, the lowest published price is TacStarter at £79.98/month, which includes 20 guards, plus 20 extra guards at £6 each: £199.98/month, with no setup fee and no contract. TacStarter does not include every feature on this page. Dispatcher Mode, for example, is a £125/month add-on on Starter. TacPro at £399/month includes 60 guards. Check current pricing for what each plan includes, and get a quote to compare it line by line against what you pay now.
Feature-by-Feature Breakdown
Here is what TacDesk includes, feature by feature.
Guard Scheduling & Shift Management
All the major platforms offer this. So does TacDesk. Scheduling, shift assignments, cover management: it’s all there, without the enterprise price tag attached.
GPS Tracking & Real-Time Location
Live guard tracking is a must-have for modern security operations. TacDesk includes GPS tracking as standard. No add-on required, no higher-tier unlock.
NFC Patrol Checkpoints
Verify guards are completing their rounds with NFC tap points at key locations. TacDesk's NFC patrols are included as standard on TacCommand and a paid add-on on TacStarter and TacPro.
Incident Reporting
Digital incident reporting with photo and video evidence, timestamped and geotagged. TacDesk handles this natively with a clean mobile interface that guards actually use. No more paper forms, no more lost reports.
Client Portal
Give your clients direct access to their site reports, incident logs, and guard activity. This is a strong retention tool: clients who can see the value you’re delivering are clients who don’t shop around. TacDesk includes a client portal on every paid plan.
Xero Integration
For UK businesses using Xero for accounting, TacDesk integrates directly, syncing payroll data, invoicing, and financial reporting. This is the kind of UK-specific integration the global platforms consistently overlook.
Fleet Management
Vehicle tracking and fleet management for security companies running mobile patrol operations. TacDesk includes this where competitors often charge separately or omit it entirely at lower tiers.
UK Compliance Tools
This is where TacDesk genuinely pulls ahead. We’re building dedicated tools for ACS accreditation, SIA licence tracking, and BS 7858 screening compliance: features built around UK regulatory requirements, not retrofitted from global templates.
One-click audit-ready reports. Policy templates aligned to ACS standards. The TacDesk Verified badge for companies clearing every mandatory gate at 70% or above, and TacDesk Verified Plus at 90% or above, on a public verification page a client can check for themselves. If ACS accreditation is on your roadmap (and it should be), that is what it looks like built in rather than bolted on.
The Honest Summary
The enterprise platforms are not bad products. They do what they say. The difference is how you find out the price: with TacDesk it is on the pricing page, and with some of the others it is a quote request.
TacDesk is a focused UK team building the features UK security companies need, with fixed published plans and no setup fee.
The features are there. The price is published. The compliance is built for Britain.
